Fountain Day School had an art fair on Friday, complete with a live jazz band and food. We got to view Sloane's Buzzy Bee class Picasso projects, among other artistic endeavors. So cute! The inspiration?
The kids spent Sunday with Cookie Grandparents in Van Nuys, cruising the streets for trouble, playing in the pool and picking/eating/squishing home-grown tomatoes. The look on Dexter's face as Sloane's passenger cracks me up: happy to be included, not so sure he's safe. Hopefully his whiplash will heal quickly. Sloane had fun in the pool too and clearly got a kick out of waving to the planes headed to and from Burbank airport. Fun!
Little Dex had a wonderful first birthday party. He was a little conductor at his very own Thomas the Train party. He made sure everything ran on perfect time. And, he was extremely interested in the cake -- but, seemingly more for artistic purposes than gastronomic. His sister had a good time too, eating cake, hanging out with Kiki and helping her brother open all his presents (and helping him play with them too!). There were also two ladies pregnant with their impending firsts on hand to peek into their futures. Exciting!
Here's a panorama shot of Sloane's Buzzy Bee classroom with the new "portable" Sony Cybershot I just got (it's got HD video too, so I figured I should). Fun! Guess it ends up pretty small when posting to blogger ... but, you can click on it for a larger view.
The fam (including the MDGs) celebrated the 4th of July eating clams and shrimp for dinner (Sloane loves clams and mussels, if you can believe it!) and heading over to CBS Studios in Studio City for the fireworks show. We met up with the Lifraks and Sloane and Ronan went nuts in boucny houses for an hour or two before the show. Sloane and Dex BOTH loved the fireworks!!!
