Quincy Sloanes at the mixing board

Weekend Fun

Sloane and I had a fun time at Sarah's baby shower. We hung out with Tannis and Romy and Tally and Maggie and Uncle Jimmy and so many other people. Phew! So many new faces. So much to watch! And, Sloane learned to wave today! Very exciting development. Even bath time was fun, especially with her Laker Kobe duck. It's no wonder she fell asleep extra early tonight.

Social Butterfly

Not only did Sloane meet Mr. Rossdale today, but, she also hung out with some of her mommy's friends from high school (Tally, Tannis and John) AND met Jake's adorable little french bulldog pup, Truman Indich.

Sloane's First Date with Kingston

So, it finally happened. Sloane hung out with Kingston Rossdale today, celebu-tot son of Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani. We were seated next to the whole fam at lunch (Campanile). Mr. Rossdale, the younger, came over to check out the "ladies" at the table -- Caitlin (4 months) and Sloane. The first time he came to the table he peeked into Sloane's carriage and squeezed her thigh a couple of times. (His British nanny, who was trailing after him as him mummy and daddy dined, said "he LOVES babies!") So, they looked at each other for a while, and he even grabbed her hand at one point. A few minutes later, he returned with two toys to show her -- a little wind up bird and bear. Needless to say, it was love.

The Stand

I couldn't believe it! She stood for several minutes (with the aid of her trusty music machine). This girl is incredible!

** For those who have asked and those who have yet to ask, no, she did not pull herself up to this position, I stood her up and then she balanced herself. Her mom is still very impressed!

Bathing beauty

Miraculously (because Dan loves that word so much), Sloane decided today that she is done with "almost" being able to sit up and can do it for long stretches of time. It's truly amazing what strides she can make from one day to the next.

Little help?

My head hurts and I can't find the baby. Diz, search the vicinity and report back to me.

Congratulations!!

Congratulations to Liz and Eric on their new precious little bundle, Sarah Elizabeth Nadzo! She was born last night at 11:38pm, just in time to hit the clubs in NYC.

Feedin' Frenzy

As you can tell, we've been having some fun in the mornings with breakfast. The last shot shows how horribly, horribly early we've been getting up in the morning (about 5am -- and it also shows her cute silver shoes!). She is rising about an hour earlier now because, this week, we've started letting her sleep all the way through the night from 8pm to 5am, instead of waking her around 11pm for a bottle and a change. Seems to be working great for her . . . but, hopefully she'll go until 6am again soon. Imagine, longing to sleep until 6am! ha ha.

We started her on the rice cereal a couple of weeks ago. Sometimes she's really into eating it, but she seems to get bored with it fairly easily. A week after that, I thought I'd try the next baby food on the list. It was carrots, but the store didn't have any, so I went with the next food on the list, green beans. That's the stuff on her face in the first two pictures. By the second day of green beans, she sure did like the taste of 'em! But, unfortunately, they went right through her! So, we're going to ratchet up the amount of rice cereal she's eating before moving on to the next adventure. My poor little guinea pig! Live and learn.

English Kissing (aka English Bulldog Kissing)

I guess Dizzy taught her how to kiss! Hopefully she learns to walk by watching us . . .
