Today Sloane and her parents welcomed Theo Tilton to the world at his own private tea party. Theo is the first child of Dan's friends Andrew and Caitlin, who live in New York, and he is about three months old (center, both pics). There were two other babies at the party as well, a seven week old little boy (far left, top pic) and a 9 month old little boy (far left, bottom pic), so Sloane practiced her older-sister-of-a-younger-brother skills on these guys. She was very cute, wanting to kiss them a lot and trying to hold their hands. Less cute was her desire to get them to share her binky and to take theirs -- still, she likes to share! I don't think I'm biased when I say she's clearly going to be the best big sister this world has ever seen.

This is the current state of our home. Fairly unusable. We're getting new wood floors and re-doing the kitchen. We do have our bedroom back now (yay!), but we're missing our living room (specifically the TV) more than you could imagine. Heat would be nice too. Technically we still have it, but the floors are exposed in the living room and the kitchen and there's about an inch of space under the front door -- so, we're relying on space heaters for now. I guess it's fitting that it would happen to be the coldest and rainiest stretch of weather all year. Nice. Needless to say, we're ready for the project to be over and to get back to our life. But, we're also very excited for the results, which we will post (hopefully soon)!

It's a BOY!
We are happy to report that Dan, Sloane, Dizzy and I are expecting a bouncing baby boy come July. The doc said he's 99% sure it's a boy. We're not doing an amnio this time, so we won't be 100% sure until D-day. But, from what I've read, it's VERY rare for a doctor to say it's a boy and then have a girl delivered (as opposed to the opposite way around). We'll have a structural ultrasound in a month and that should confirm the sex. And, more importantly, the doc says baby is looking very healthy and doing just great.

Another Sequel This Summer
Sloane will be getting a sibling of some type later this year, probably July. Below is purportedly the last known photo, although it kind of looks like Dizzy's eye.

Sunday in DC
What a day! Sloane went to a fabulous restaurant in Union Station (B. Smith's), frequented by ELMO himself! How did mommy's friend Shelton know that??? What luck! And, she wasn't messin' around with those blueberry waffles. Mmmmm. She yelled out "Mo!" before she had even finished the bite she had in her mouth. After brunch and a stroll through Union Station, Sloane took a quick tour of DC, hanging out with a police horse and checking out the WWII memorial with her grandparents. Then, on the way back to LA at the airport, she hung out with a group of tourists from Kenya, returning from their Obama inauguration trip. So exciting!
Sloane in DC ("darn cold")
OOOOOhhhhh! is right, Sloane. It was cccccccooooold. And, so fun to see her MDGs! (Maryland Grandparents) Maybe next time we go back it will be summer.
Despite the cold, we braved the zoo and saw the pandas, which Sloane enjoyed. More than the pandas though, she enjoyed running around without any mittens. She has decided they "just aren't for her." Good thing she lives in Southern California.
