Happy One-Month Birthday, Dex!

Little Dexter is one month old today. His mommy took him to his one-month checkup and he is doing great. The nurse put drops in his eyes to dilate his pupils and his eyes checked out great. They gave him the second dose of his hepatitis vaccine and he cried for about 5 seconds and then was easily consoled with his bottle. He's a tough little nut! He weighs 9 lbs., 5 oz., is 21 3/4 inches and has a 15 1/4 head circumference, putting him at the 50th, 50th and 51st percentiles, respectively. Happy Birthday, baby!

MDG (ie, Maryland Grandma)

I meant to post about Grandma Francie's visit about a week ago . . . but, time flies when you have two babies! It was so nice to have her out to stay with us. And, great to have an extra pair of hands. As made clear in the first pic below, the kids loved having her here too! And, she took pic #2, which I think is ADORABLE.

Leah's Bachelorette

Sloane and Dex's mommy flew up to SF for 24 hours for Leah's bachelorette. Thanks to Dan and Francie, I got a short little break from the kiddies, one morning to sleep in and time with friends. I even got a massage at the spa portion of the festivities! What a treat! It was so nice to see the law school girls again. And, I even got to hang with my bro. This new (again) mommy had a wonderful time! What a nice little hop, skip and jump up north.

World's Best Big Sis

Dexter's Growth

Here's a shot of little Dex at the doctor on his one week birthday. At that appointment he weighed in at 1/2 oz. more than his birth weight (ie, 7 lbs., 5.5 oz.) The following Saturday we took him to the doc again because of a diaper rash (basically just to confirm it was okay and we treating it correctly) and he had jumped up to 7 lbs., 13 oz. My little man is growing strong!
