Dexter at Daycare
Mommy got the rare treat of picking up Dexter from daycare on Friday. I left early from work and decided to go get my little man. He was very happy at daycare, but very happy to see his mommy too. One of the little girls (Jory's little sister -- I forget her name!) was insistent on helping Dexter put his shoes on and gather up his stuff -- it was really cute. And, how cute is big baby Bodhi with the smoldering eyes!?!

Dexter's Art
Dexter has been bringing home his own works of art as well. Clearly, his style is avant garde. Not surprising. The kid is all about "pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable," be it grabbing something his sister wants and running, sticking a spork into daddy's ear, walking out the front door as silent as a ninja or any variety of other equally dramatic performance art projects which keep us constantly on our toes. He's particularly fond of working in the media of bread, noodles and sauces of all varieties.

Erin's Baby Shower
The ladies had lots of fun at Erin's baby shower! The food was delicious and the company was great. Sloane especially loved helping Erin open all the presents. The moment she walked in, Sloane turned to me and asked, "Mommy, can I open all the presents?" Um, well ... Erin to the rescue exclaimed, "Sure, of course you can!" A great mommy already! I think the grandmas liked getting a little grandmothering practice in with Sloane too. And, it was so great to see everyone. It hadn't been too long since I had seen Jackie, Jamie, Jaren and Alex -- but, it had been forever since I saw Kristen! And, it was great to meet cute little Max. We'll have to do it again soon!
Sloane and Mommy's NYC Weekend Adventure
Sloane and her mommy went to NYC for Erin's baby shower. The ladies had a lot of fun hanging out all weekend. But, we missed the boys so much! Sloane LOVED the snow - in fact, it would take 20 minutes to walk one block because she insisted on stomping the snow with her boots at every opportunity. The roof of Erin's buidling was great too (and the snow a little cleaner, ha ha). I think her favorite part of the weekend was hanging with Freddie and Rufus (Erin and Brian's dogs). Freddie and Sloane could have played ball together for hours (and did) -- wow, a dog that actually fetches and then gives the ball back! Shocking! After not too long, he sat next to her on the couch at every opportunity (see below, Freddie protectively sits next to Sloane as she watches Shrek Forever After for the third time in two days). And, Rufus loved to be brushed by Sloane. I don't think they wanted her to leave.

First Ballet and Tap Class!
Sloane had her first ballet and tap class today. It was very, very cute. She was still a little under the weather from our epic battle with a stomach bug yesterday (Dex, Sloane and I yesterday - Dan today - ugh!). But, you couldn't tell. In fact, moments before the class began, she ran over to us and exclaimed "I'm so excited!" As you can tell, she positioned herself as close as possible to the teacher (Miss Audra) at every opportunity. And, she did great! Her listening ears were definitely on - she was great at following direction. Dex was there to cheer her on and otherwise make mischief. She's excited to go back in two weeks! (New York next weekend! Never a dull moment!)
