Playdate with Rhoads

The fam spent the afternoon with Rhoads, Melly and Brian -- a playdate for Dex this time! Based on the ages of the kids, it was more like parallel play for all three. But, it was fun for everybody and so nice to catch up with Rhoads's parents. We'll be back in the summer to hit them up on the offer of swimming in that beautiful pool!
ps. In that last shot, Sloane was "so mad" because Nemo was not sharing with his friends. Guess we'll have to get Finding Nemo so we can show her it all works out in the end!

Playdate with Issac

Sloane's friend from school, Issac, put a note in her cubby a few weeks ago asking for a playdate (okay, so maybe his mom had a hand in it, but it was his idea -- so cute!) He and his sister, Manon, came over for a play date on Sunday. Great kids, everybody had a really fun afternoon. Dex might have had the most fun of all; his little man-crush on Issac was adorable.

Yellow Balloon and Story Time

Mommy took the kids to get hair cuts at the Yellow Balloon. They were both very good, but Dexter did cry a little bit this time. They both loved their yellow balloons. Then we went to story time at Barnes & Noble (Bookstar). We were early and Dexter couldn't wait for storytime to start (pictured below). They both loved listening (and singing songs) for about the first half of story time, then Dexter decided it was time to run around the store. Mommy chased after him. By the time Dex and mommy got back to the reading circle, Sloane was sitting in the reader's lap. Sloane was the star listener! And, as always, she was a very good helper too (picking the books for the reader, helping mommy wrangle Dex, etc.). Dexter was very good too and made friends with another little 1 1/2 year old blonde toddler, a girl named Juliana. He kept patting her and following her around. It was very cute!
