Daddy's Doctor Visit

Daddy got a nasty spider bite and when the swelling hadn't subsided after a few days (eeek!), he had to go to urgent care to get it checked out. On a Saturday. Which normally wouldn't be a problem except that mommy had to work all day. So, daddy had to take the kids. I guess the doctor felt that Sloane needed a perscription too (for "Extra Quiet Pills"). HA!

Sloane was SO proud that she can now stand in the shallow end of the pool, unassisted. Dex was just excited to get to go swimming. And, Dan and Shane were thrilled to get a date afternoon (complete with viewing of Rise of Planet of the Apes) while the McKenzie grandparents watched the kids. Thanks, Cookies!

Happy Birthday, Alexa!

The fam celebrated Alexa's birthday (Sloane's classmate) at Fairies and Dragons in Encino. Sloane loved getting her nails and face painted, having a little tea party with her friends, story time and the magician. I think Dex found the party a bit too girly for his taste -- or perhaps he was just exhausted because it was during his nap time. He sat by himself watching movies most of the time (but very well behaved!).
