The whole fam went to a baby shower for Tannis and Jeremy, hosted by her dad and Maggie. Sloane got to pal around with 3 year old Izzo (Isadore), who would adorably come up within a couple inches of her face and politely ask "Would you like to play with me?" To which she would respond, "Yes!" She also got into an argument with the host, "Uncle Jimmy," after she gave him a big kiss. After she did he said "You give such good kisses!" Then she said, "No, YOU give good kisses!" Then he said it again, then her -- it was adorable. I think Dex had fun too. He hung out on his dad's chest for most of the party. He and Rhoads (another young lad at the party, a month dex's senior) stared at each other for a while. Good times.
Sloane and Ronan had such fun together! (as always) They played in a boat of balls, ate grilled cheese and CHOCOLATE (see below), had dinosaur fights, watched the wiggles and generally had a great time. This is going to become a regular event -- for sure!
Dexter is doing great! He weighs 18 lbs. (45th percentile), is 27 1/2 inches long (75th percentile) and has an 18 1/2 inch head circumference ("off the chart"). I think my long and lean little man is going to do like his big sis and not be too interested in crawling until right before he learns to walk . . . but, we'll see!
The family went to Carl's house in Santa Monica for a delicious dinner and good company with Dan's friends from college. Sloane and Dex got to hang out with Theo (15 months) and were, of course, dragged across the wood floor by their father. (I love how Sloane demurely crosses her leg as she is dragged, lol.) And, Sloane and Theo entertained us with a live performance (or three) on the piano. We'll have to get Sloane some lessons!
It's a little hard to tell Sloane has a (102F) fever from the way she climbed up onto my shoulders in the first pic, but the presence of the binky (during the day!) gives it away (hey, we are cutting her some slack). Also, the way she passed out on the couch during Sleeping Beauty mid morning shows my poor little lady fighting off the latest bug. It seems like her nose has been running for weeks -- her dad and I are in awe of how much mucous that kids makes. Her brother had his first fever the weekend before (on President's Day -- 2/15 -- poor kid). Today, they continue to be congested and have runny noses, but I think we've turned the corner. Fingers crossed!
The kids wore red for friendship day at school. The toddlers got heart-shaped pancakes and there was a little party for the parents in the infant room. So fun!
On Saturday, the fam went to Megan and Seth's house to celebrate Keegan's 1st birthday. There were several other little girls for Sloane to play with and she had a great time. Dex had fun looking at everyone (and dancing for the ladies, see below), but is really looking forward to the day he will be able to run around with Keegan. He was so impressed with Keegan's walkin' skilz. Don't worry little man, you'll get there!
