20th Century Man
Here are scenes from the 100th birthday party for the babies' great-grandfather, Erwin Diwald, held today in Santa Monica. He was happy to see everybody--including out-of-town guests--but was pretty choked up about the whole thing. Which is weird, because you think he would be used to birthdays by this point.
Above is the guest of honor with his oldest daughter. This could be Mike and Gabrielle in 66 years. I just blew my own mind.
I'm the one on the right. I have some video of the whole thing, but I haven't had a chance to post it yet. Stay tuned.

Courtroom Drama
In news tangentially related to Baby Girl McKendelsohn--or at least, her legitimacy--we're suing the City of Beverly Hills and one of their employees for screwing us out of the public park we tried to rent for the wedding last year. I'm representing the wife (and the 323--holla!). The case has been going on for six months or so, but today we had a victory. The other side tried to get the case dismissed (by filing a demurrer, if you're hip) and today the judge crushed it. I didn't even have to say anything--the other lawyer yapped at the judge a bunch and I just stood behind her chair and pretended to have sex with the back of her head. No, you're out of order. They are probably (hopefully?) going to settle soon, because on top of everything else they just had to produce a bunch of evidence which was not for them, shall we say, good. Nutshell--we accused the employee of being a liar and they just gave us a bunch of photos of her pants, on fire.
Don't call me a hero for single-handedly exposing bureaucratic corruption. Call me a hero for being a decorated military veteran. God--no, wait--Me bless America.

Zero, My Hero, How Wonderful You Are
I can't improve on the March 18 NBA blog post by Washington Wizards guard (and new father) Gilbert Arenas. But I can steal it. Read, Learn, Live:
Welcome to the World, Triple-A
My son was born in Walnut Creek, California.I’m very excited. The 2000 Arenas is here.
I was talking a little trash to him already.
I told him hopefully he darkens up a little bit, because he was a little light in the skin. Then I told him he needs to watch the movie 300, because he needs to be a Spartan type of man.
I gave him the name Triple-A: Alijah Amani Arenas.
We’re trying to get him sponsored by AAA now and get his diapers paid for.

Cousin Gabrielle!!!
After 35 hours of labor, here's gorgeous little Gabrielle!
Luckily, she's clearly worth it!
(but her auntie Shane is hoping Gabrielle's cousin-in-the-making doesn't like it inside her mom as much as little Gaby clearly liked it inside Gillian!!)
We heard about your birth yesterday . . . and it's a day later . . . sort of . . . but, I guess we've decided to celebrate your birthday again today. So, let me be one of the first to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Breaking News
The McKendelsohn is 24 weeks old, and she now has two cousins. Gabrielle ____ Mendelsohn (Chinese middle name pending) was born in Singapore at about 12:15 am on March 14 (3.14 roughly = pi). Gillian and Mike are doing well, although after 16 hours of labor, Mike is probably doing better than Gillian. The baby weighed 2.9kg and was, like, 50 cm I think. No pictures yet, but the scene presumably looks like this:

Whose baby is that?
Everything is still everything. Shane is pregnanter each day but still no good pictures like this:
The little lady looks great. And so does the baby. Zing! Mike and Gillian should be providing similar pictures sometime this week, although in that time zone it has maybe already happened. We won't have any baby pix for 3 1/2 months, but the construction of the baby room should be complete sometime before then, so we'll show you that.
