Disneyland: Day 1

The family headed down to the house of mouse for two glorious fun-filled days mid-week. It was still a bit crowded because of Spring Breaks (including Sloane's - how grown up!), but not too bad. We got season passes and plan to go more often. Without traffic, it only took us about 40 minutes to get there!
On Day 1, the first stop was the Materhorn, which I had explained to Sloane was the Mountain with the Monster with a train that goes really fast. When I first asked her if she would want to go on that she said, "No! ... I mean, YES!" It was Sloane's first time on Materhorn, but Dex was too small. So, we made use of the "Rider Swap" program and Sloane got to go twice - first with mama, then with papa. She was so brave! Post-Materhorn, Dan bought a huge Fantasyland turkey drumstick, which the whole family agreed was absolutely delicious. Yum!
After that, Sloane and I went to Pixie Hollow to meet Tinkerbell. You'll see we also got to meet Tink's friend Iridessa. While Sloane and I waited for 45 minutes in that line (she is so patient!), Dex and his dad went to Main Street where Dex got to drive a firetruck. Then Dan and Sloane went on It's a Small World, while Dex napped in his stroller.
Around 2:30, we went to the hotel in the hopes Sloane would nap. No such luck. After an hour and a half of trying, we headed for the pool, which Sloane loved probably as much as Disneyland itself. After dinner at Denny's, we headed back to the park. We were greeted at the entrance by Pluto. We had to rouse the poor kids for Pirates, which they LOVED, and then they were out like lights the minute we put them back in the stroller. Tuckered tikes!
